Into Gaea

A mystic land called Gaea
A medieval fantasy of knights
Swords and dragons all around
Such dreams only appear at night
Such thoughts never entered
A hopeful young girl's mind
Hitomi was carefree
From reality she refused to find
In the midst of her life one day
Appearing before her was a beam
A pillar of light transported her
Far away into an unknown dream
Finding herself in a distant world
Hitomi looked up at the sky
Together hanging above the land
With the moon and earth up high
Strangers appeared before her
She was brought to a nearby town
To a place called Fanelia
Where a young boy, Van, wore the crown
This strong yet uncertain boy
Was striving with all his might
To live up to such high expectations
To conquer his internal fight
Unfortunately Hitomi had arrived
At a time of corruption, hate, and fear
With the powerful Zaibach raging on
Evil was always near
With the empire's ruler, Dornkirk
Zaibach sought pure control
To alter destiny and fortune
To "free" the human soul
The king and fellow men journeyed
With Hitomi at their side
New friends, foes and allies
Created with each stride
From the spunky cat-girl Merle
To Allen Schezar, the heroic knight
To Millerna Ashton, princess of Asutria
All three joined Van's fight
As the battle raged on
Losses and gains occurred each day
Everyone involved began to realize
The price was dear to pay
With Hitomi's psychic "power"
Of visions, fortunes, and thoughts
Instead of a way to conquer
They found the answer they sought
The mysterious power of Atlantis
Was the cause of all this strife
This ancient power was said to posses
The controls of all aspects of life
The peak of the war occurred
When all became lost and done
The sky blackened on that fateful day
Where, the war, Zaibach had won
Though Zaibach was victorious
Their mistake had been great
For people's minds were full of sin
Leading to a future of hate
Dornkirk soon realized
His plan had not gone through
He couldn't change fortune
He knew not what to do
The true war that raged, however
Was actually insides one's thoughts
People's emotions and wishes
Were the real reasons they fought
Somehow Hitomi had the power
To save Gaea and everyone
But she had to first discover it
For her true will to be done
She finally realized her emotions
And this set her spirit free
Causing discord to come to a halt
Her inner strength was the key
Even Zaibach soon realized
That fortune would not be undone
Serenity swept across the field
At the arrival of the rising sun
All the hatred soon diminished
Destiny and fortune continued on
People began to live their lives
Knowing the struggle had been won
Though Hitomi desired to be in Gaea
Her life she knew she did lack
Sorrowfully parting from her new loved ones
The same pillar of light returned her back
On Earth, Hitomi had somehow changed
Although content, she was now aware
Beginning to truly live, she knew
Her angel was watching...somewhere
